The subject matter is nearly as old as man.....Erotic works of Art have been created since the dawn of consciousness by artists both naive and sophisticated...by artists both great and diminutive in stature and ability. There is, literally, nothing new in the subject matter of the Erotic Art being produced today.
The term Erogenesis or Eros was for the ancient Greeks synonymous with Sexual love...Erotic Art should then (by definition) portray sexual activity. There is today, in my opinion, a certain hypocrisy regarding sexuality which I struggle against...which keeps "serious" (acceptable) Erotic works locked in the realms of symbolism and suggestive metaphor... which makes them safely sensuous (and thereby Harmless?) while the tasteless pandering of the so called eroticism of the porno trades and the mercenary sexual titillation of modern entertainment industries are allowed free rein and enjoy robust financial rewards.
My effort is not to create "Blatantly" sexual works....it is to create honestly sexual works of Art that portray a meaningful and tremendously valuable aspect to the Human experience, activity and fantasy (let us not forget fantasy). I hope I bring to my work certain qualities of Beauty, Sensitivity and Respect...and an aspect of Education to the various approaches I have taken regarding both the sexual and aesthetic concerns of Subject, Media, Composition and Stylistic Philosophies.
