WILL GRIFFITH, formerly 'Epicenia' is an erotic artist, poet and human rights advocate. He is founder of The Griffith Center and is a member of The Secret Room, a collective of erotic artists. Griffith is also a peace activist and holds his Certification in Conflict Analysis from the United States Institute of Peace. He took the name 'Epicenia' after his ex-lover, transsexual poetess Alysyn Ayrica (now Director of The Griffith Center) wrote 'The Epicenia Trilogy', an expose' describing his feminine, androgynous, submissive sexuality. She revealed his chronic masturbation, an activity he engages in relentlessly when he is painting or working on a new project, and small appendage, describing the size of his penis in humiliating detail in her article. In an interview with ArtChix Magazine Alysyn summed up Griffith's sexuality: "I love Will (Griffith) as a friend, and even if his body isn't hard or exciting I can enjoy time around him on other levels. But the mistake was fucking him. If there was ever a complete let down sexually it was his boring little excuse for a penis and his inability to get hard when I needed it. I guess I could have put some panty hose on him to make him excited, but that just kills it for me." She added: "...his body is absolutely not even close to turning me on. He can't even get a hard on with a hand full of vaseline stroking what passes for his dick, let alone with my ass in his face. After a while I just gave up trying. You either want it or you don't, ya know?" Despite her assessment of Griffith's sexuality, Alysyn Ayrica remains his model, muse and closest friend. She appeals to Griffith's masochistic personality and the artist worships her and entrusts her with the business affairs of The Griffith Center, which manages and preserves his artistic vision and legacy. Essentially she controls the purse strings and has the final word on how the artist's work is exhibited, sold and preserved. His transvestitism and femme-boy sexuality define his lifestyle. ArtChix Magazine ran a cover feature article on Griffith's past as a transvestite hooker. He admitted to the story and revealed he is gay. The artist responded by adding TRANSVESTITE HOOKER: Self Portraits, to his gallery. He ended his 'Epicenia Period' recently, resuming his work under his given name and is now an advocate for sex workers rights and has called for decriminalization of prostitution. Griffith is a staunch advocate against censorship in the arts as well. He resides in Los Angeles where he devotes his time to his art and to his activism.
